Week 5 Exercises

UVW Map Modifier

I am going to create a Box and I will apply the moth image taken from the VLE as the texture for  the box. Once I have the texture PROJECTED on the box I will convert he box into a editable poly and will use the MODIFIER UVW MAP. Now I can select the Gizmo (in any different mapping such as planar, box, cylindrical, etc...) and move it, scale it and rotate it to modify the projection of the texture in the box.

Unwrap UVW Mapping

I am going to follow the first tutorial from the VLE for the week 5 exercises. I am going to download the house from the tutorial and I am going to add the modifier UVW UNWRAP. With the "face" selected I am going to select all the walls of the house and I am going to open them in the UV EDITOR.

Here I can see the faces but I am not able to tell what is what. So I am going to uncheck the NORMALIZE MAP box and I am going to use a planar projection. Now I can clearly see in the UV editor the walls of the house.

I am going to deselect the Planar Projection and then I am going to do the same thing for the roof faces, the bottom faces and the chimney faces.

For some reason I am not being able to apply the materials to each of the faces in UV editor which is what I thought the main objective of this tutorial would be.
