Week 7 Exercises

Free Camera

I am going to open the dolphin file from the tutorial and I am going to spawn a free camera in the top view. Then I am going to move and rotate the camera until it faces the dolphin. Once I like where the camera is, to check that its focusing where I want, I will change the viewport view from perspective to camera. This way I can see in that viewport everything that the camera is looking at.

I will also name the camera. This might not be important when the scene has only one camera but for the final animation I will need many cameras so I will be naming them with sensible names to be able to identify them and find them easily within the scene.

Target Camera

The difference between this camera and the free camera is that the target camera is looking into a defined target and does not look anywhere else. I find this camera particularly interesting for my final animation because I think it will be extremely useful for the spaceships chase scenes, as it will hopefully follow the ships.

The process its very similar to the free camera with the only difference that I have to first spawn the camera and then define the target of the camera. The I can move both the camera and the target until I get where I want.
